About Engler's Photography.

About the Englers...

Don and Sue Engler have primarily been known as family portrait artists and wedding specialists over the many years that they have been in business, however in the last year Don has enjoyed flying his two drones in both Florida and Delaware. He expects to take his FAA Part 107 Certification within the next month. The Englers have incorporated this drone experience within their portrait sessions; both at the beach and locally within allowable FAA fly-zones.

Don is a past president of the Delaware Professional Photographers of the Delaware Professional Photographers and is one of the founding fathers of this 35 year old organization.

Don was one of the original charter trustees that began the M.A.R.S. School; (Middle Atlantic Regional School of Professional Photography - www.marsschool.com that presently meets once a year in Cape May, NJ.

Both he and Sue have given "P.P.A. Super Monday" seminars for many years to professionals in our state with availability to our three surrounding states, as well as they are always part of the MARS School yearly educational staff.

Sue received her Craftsman Degree twenty years ago in Las Vegas from the Professional Photographers of America www.ppa.com Sue also belongs to the Professional Women’s Business Network of Wilmington, DE.

Don has earned the title Wedding Photographer of the Year for 5 consecutive years by the Delaware Professional Photographers. The New Jersey Prof. Photographers (PPANJ) have listed Don as their 'Photographer of the Year' in South Jersey in late 90's. Don received the "People's Choice," the highest scoring print, the best wedding image, and membership in the "480" Club from 1998-2006. October 2009, the Delaware Professional Photographers awarded Don his 9th Kodak Gallery Award for Excellence in Photography and his 9th Fuji Masterpiece Award.

The Guild of Professional Photographers of Delaware Valley (www.gppdv.com) awarded Don the highest honor in print competition, the "Walter Free Award"; he has also served on the board for two years as their newsletter editor. Don earned his Professional Photographers of America Certification in 1990, his Master of Photography Degree in 1997 and his Craftsman Degree in 1998. He has served as Delaware's Representative to the PPA National Council for ten years.
Sue has worked with Don on weddings, family portraits and is the solitary observer for drone fly-overs. Sue has assumed the responsibilites of marketing at Engler's.

She has brought about a more extensive childrens' program for the photographing of newborns, toddlers and up. Sue has spent much time and effort in creation of our "in studio scenery" to be totally unique and different. We create a new scene for each seasonal Special that we run throughout the year such as our Easter Bunnies, Birthday Bash, Tea Parties, Attic Treasurers, Fishbowl Splash, Bullfrogs and Butterflies, Christmas, etc. Sue's tireless approach and positive attitude is exemplified while working with babies and children. Their innocence and making a memory of the way your family is today through photography is the only way I know to freeze time. Every moment in your family's life exists only for a brief second then it is erased forever. This is to stress how precious and special each of the moments are. The time is now! Your family will never be the same again. Please don't put it off, it is just too important!

Don has retired from the duPont Company early in his life and has been able to devote many full time years as a photographer. Well known for his fish-eye and infrared photography, Don became a Certified Professional Photographer in 1990 and has re-qualified each 5 yr period since then. He earned his Master Photographer status in just 4 years (1997) and his Craftsmen Degree the following year. He recently added two more awards that no Delaware photographer has ever accomplished; the American Society of Photographers' top 100 world print exhibit. TWICE! Engler was presented the coveted PPA National Award in 1999 by national educator, Oklahoma photographer, Don Emmerich.

Don spends more time now trying to please his portrait clients and less time worrying about the judges desires. Don himself judges for the nearby states of Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
